A song from our forthcoming album 'Kolar's Gold'. Based on a traditional Cornish song, Neal Jolly has given it a new tune and verse. It's inspired by the true story of a group of Cornish miners who traveled to the Kolar Gold Fields India.
Richard Jose - tune trad/ words by Richard Trethewey Richard Jose is a famous son of Cornwall. A cousin Jack who left Cornwall in search of work following the death of his father. The eldest of five children, he crossed the storming Atlantic aged fourteen, comforting his fellow travellers with his rare singing voice.
An acoustic performance of a piece we were commissioned to arrange by the Lowender Peran Festival as part of their Brythonek Languages concert. Filmed at Chapel Cross Tea Room, South Cadbury.
