‘Kolar’s Gold,’ doesn’t need genres or labels hanging round it, when all’s said and done it is a remarkable recording and deserves to be heard. Roots yes, but so much more, if only other bands were as daring with what they find on the door step.-Spiral Earth 2020

About

The Rowan Tree have come a long way since forming in 2017 at the Pan Celtic festival. They have won multiple awards, performed internationally and have been featured on radio and in press around the world. During 2019 they took on their most ambitious project to date- Kolar’s Gold. The Kolar’s Gold project has seen the band collaborating with 60 musicians in India and Cornwall and has pushed the boundaries of traditional folk music, weaving different musical styles and cultures seamlessly together. The Kolar’s Gold album is an extraordinary achievement for a band that has proven time and again its ability to transcend the defining limits of genre whilst staying true to their passion for representing Cornish music and culture on the international stage.

The band are currently working on an exciting new project that will see them return to business-as-usual after a pandemic inflicted hiatus!
